Historic Hampton Court Palace

Things to do in London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington

I'm a Summer baby through and through, so as the days get longer and – on occasion – warmer, there's nothing I love more than being able to get out and about. So when I made a trip down to London recently to visit a friend, I just had to take a trip to Hampton Court Palace.

Steeped in plenty of rich history, including the former home to Henry VIII and his six wives, this is one palace worth a visit. And if history isn't quite your thing, then you'll no doubt be bowled over by the stunning gardens and the palace itself (insert heart eyes emoji).

Having never visited before, I was excited to see everything Hampton Court had to offer. From The Royal Tennis Court to the beautifully landscaped gardens and The Great Hall where Shakespeare and his company entertained, it's the perfect place for a family day out.

Fortunately after a good 3 hours walking round the palace and gardens, we had almost reached the end when the heavens decided to open. It sure did make for one atmospheric photo! Have you ever seen something look so ominous?
