Daily Logo Challenge: Up Up and Away


Sharing the second in the series of the Daily Logo Challenge on the blog today in the form of Up Up and Away, a luxury, tailor-made travel brand that focuses on unique and bespoke adventures. The prompt for day 2 was 'hot air balloon', so I knew this was a good chance for me to create a visual identity for a travel brand. My first thoughts went straight to Cappadocia; home for the hot air balloon ride – google the photos and you'll see just how breathtaking it looks!

With that image in my mind, I knew that I wanted this logo design to incorporate luxurious, yet bold colours. Giving a fun, vibrant feel to a high-end travel brand. Thinking back to an earlier post, I initially considered using pins (the ones often used on push-pin maps) within the illustration but then had a better idea. Using a map pointer as the predominant shape of the logo design, the crown of the hot air balloon sat nicely within the pointer, acting as the cut-out circle. This also played out really nicely, helping the soft pastel colours of the balloon to stand out against the deep hue of the purple.
